PhD Candidate in Social Research and Development, with a Master’s Degree in Administration and Natural Resources. Lecturer and thesis advisor at various universities, with extensive expertise in socio-economic and environmental issues, as well as technical training in environmental regulations, standards, policies, and natural resource management. Specialized in Voluntary Agreements for Cleaner Production, with training from the World Bank, Technical Standards from COGUANOR Guatemala, and postgraduate certifications in Sustainable Construction and the implementation of EDGE and LEED certifications for existing buildings. Passionate about advancing preventive environmental management approaches within industrial sectors, particularly SMEs and microenterprises, to support environmental compliance and sustainable development. With more than 16 years of experience in the design and implementation of environmental projects and initiatives, she currently leads the Department of Cleaner Production and Environmental Sustainability at Guatemala’s Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN). She has also continued to expand her expertise in circular economy models and their practical application.

Apasionada por la aplicación del eje preventivo ambiental, en los sectores industriales Pymes y Mipymes para el cumplimiento ambiental y sostenible. Más de 16 años de experiencia con propuestas y proyectos ambientales, liderando el Departamento de Producción más Limpia y Sostenibilidad Ambiental de MARN-Guatemala. Con actualización en los modelos económicos circulares y su aplicación.
